With this aim in view, a modest beginning was made by the Samity in the year 1978 by establishing a charitable outdoor hospital for catering to the economically weaker section of the Society. Over the years, the hospital has grown multifold to its present form and this day, we are catering treatment to 500 patients daily with the help of 100 dedicated and qualified doctors. The visiting doctors are specialists in General Medicine, Surgery, Homeopathy, ENT, Gynecology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology, Skin, Cardiology, Pediatric, Dental and Physiotherapy treatment in addition to pain healing clinic and yoga for health. Free medicines and spectacles are also distributed to needy patients.
The Samity also runs a fully air-conditioned, NABL accredited, state of the art Diagnostic Centre equipped with advanced pathology, digital X-Ray, Ultra Sonography, ECG, EEG/NCV, Holter Monitoring, Echo & OPG machines, assisted by trained technicians, at considerably subsidised rates.
The Samity established an English Medium Co-educational school, Purwanchal Vidya Mandir in the year 1998, on a 20 cottah plot. The school has already built a significant presence in Kolkata by achieving 100%, First Division in ICSE and ISC Board Examinations. It has earned a distinguished reputation in the field of education in Kolkata. The co-curricular activities of the school include music, dance, art, craft, quiz, debate and drama, in addition to Yoga and sports. It has its own fully air-conditioned auditorium to pursue other activities. All in all, the school focuses on building holistic personalities of its students, so that they can face life’s various challenges with courage and self-confidence. Considering the limitations of the middle and lower income segments of the society, the fees are kept at the minimum. The school has got about 2700 students on its roll at present for KG to Class XII.
A Critical Care air-conditioned Ambulance is available 24 hours for providing services at a subsidised rate.
The Samity also undertakes socially beneficial programs such as tree plantation for the protection of environment, relief service during natural calamities like flood & cyclone, free distribution of medicines, spectacles, clothes, blankets and aids & equipment to the physically challenged and needy persons and organising free eye operation & blood donation camps. In addition to the above ongoing activities, the Samity has Gadda, Blankets, Chadars, Dinner sets and Buffet sets for marriage, engagement, anniversary and birthday parties at nominal rates. Seva sivir are organized at Gangasagar during Mela for benefit of pilgrims.

To promote fellowship and brotherhood among members, the Samity organises cultural program like Kavi Sammelan and Preeti Sammelan on the occasion of Holi & Diwali Our motto is Service beyond self.
We are registered under section 80G of Income Tax Act as well as under CSR scheme of Ministry of Companies Affairs to receive donations.
